Steve Aoki @ Embassy '08/12/07

(Visited 1196 times)

It was raining really hard last Wednesday night and I was kinda lazy to go out. My friends didn’t want to cancel our night out, so we pushed through with the Superklasse @ Embassy with Steve Aoki event. Good thing we went there to experience DJ Steve Aoki’s party scene. ‘Twas an awesome and insanely-cool night!! The club was jam packed with party peeps and celebrities. My friends Au and Louann, also with hockey buddies Julian from the US and James from Germany really enjoyed the party.

Anyhow, here are some pics from the event. Enjoy! ;)

Good Dive, Bad Dive '06/26/07

What is a good racing dive? Aside from playing ice hockey, I was also a competitive swimmer back in the days. I started swimming when I was 12 years old. I joined the Swim Team in high school and college. I was a member of AAPS (Athletics Association for Private Schools) and won silver and bronze medals for freestyle and backstroke events. I didn’t win any gold (which I really got frustrated) because I thought it has something to do with my height haha… I had extensive practices, 5 times a week between 5am to 7am. I really enjoyed the Swim Meets and of course my dark, toned body. ;)

Anyways, what is a good dive again? Leap up and out, then enter the water without a splash for a perfect racing dive. Here are the steps:

Good one! Got a bronze medal for this.

Travel the Philippines (Lakbayin ang Pilipinas) '06/22/07

(Visited 822 times)

So far, I’ve traveled the tip to the southern part of the Philippines. But thats not enough. I still have a lot of places to go to, explore new places and bring good news to everyone who wants to travel the Philippines. Marc and I promised to travel the tourist spots here before exploring overseas because we have to see the beauty of the Philippines first. Now that’s what we call loving our own country. Also, I want to have an A+ grade haha… ;)

My Lakbayan grade is B-!

How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out atLakbayan!

World Ice Hockey 5’s 2007 is now over '06/20/07

Manila Ice Vixens didn’t win the World Ice Hockey 5’s 2007 this year, but we went home with pride. Considering that this was MIV’s first international competition, a lot of teams told us we did pretty well and that made us feel really good. We really had fun in HK. We made friends with almost all of the Women’s team like Japan Red Bullets, Malaysian Slayers, Macau Mystiks, Wndigos, Macau Asian All-Stars (Macau and Singapore) and HK WIHO Selects also with some other teams from International A, B and Asian A and B.

The Terminal 2 and Amazing Race Experience '04/27/07

DSC00011.JPGDSC00042.JPGDSC00009.JPG

We missed our flight going to Cebu via Cebu Pacific because our flight was scheduled at 9pm but we arrived at the airport 30 minutes before the flight (due to unavoidable circumstances). Based on our previous trips, Cebu Pacific usually allowed passengers to check-in 30 minutes before the trip. So, we were confident enough to make that trip, but we were surprised to know that they already closed the flight and that they let the chance passengers in. Unfortunately, that was the last flight for the day and that the next available flight would be on a Sunday. We kinda panicked and checked out other airlines to book for the earliest flight the next day because we don’t want to miss the tour as well. So, we called out every domestic airlines we could possibly think of. Also checked out fares and availability through Marc’s laptop via Globe visibility (Thank God he brought the laptop with him).

DSC00024.JPGDSC00054.JPGDSC00043.JPG

After an hour of calling and surfing, Marc finally booked us a flight for 8am the next day via Air Philippines. It was twice the price difference from our one way ticket to Cebu, but it didn’t matter anyways for as long as we get to Cebu the next day, money wasn’t a problem. The only catch was, we had to get the tickets 3 hours before the trip. Since we already learned our lesson and we didn’t want to miss out the opening of the ticketing office (because they might give out our slots), we’ve decided to spend the night at the airport ala “The Terminal” with a twist of Amazing Race type. We were at the Terminal 2 at around 10pm, then we had to wait for the ticketing office to open by 3am, and we had to wait 5 more hours before the flight… So, a total of 10 hours of waiting at the airport and 10 hours of no sleep for me at all. Marc just slept the whole time while I had to look after the bags and track the time the whole night till sunrise. Lesson learned: Adjust your time 5 hours prior to your flight schedule. :p

I wasn’t expecting we would go back to Puerto Galera this year. It was a short notice, a lot of thinking, and 4 days of deciding… BUT good thing we came. The last time I’ve been there was 2 years ago (thrice) and it came to a point that I don’t want to go back to PG for a while. Anyways, the whole week was so exhausting, stressful and had sleepless nights because I had to take my cousins (from US and Canada) out for almost everyday.
