Manila Carabaos & HMCS Ottawa Friendly Game '06/10/08
(Visited 678 times)The Manila Mighty Carabaos and HMCS Ottawa Canadian Navy had a friendly game at the Mall of Asia last June 7 at 10am. They wore the same color of jersey, so its a little bit confusing. 1st period was so intense. Ottawa scored 2 in the first 15 minutes of the game. But we had high hopes for the home team, specially when Andre Gan of Manila team scored its first goal. The crowd, spectators, and supporters shouted and cheered for the Manila team. It was fun watching the crowd because I think it was their first time to watch a real hockey game here in the Philippines. They were curious to see how Filipino hockey players (who live in a tropical country) play against Canadian players (where they live and breathe ice hockey), whether the crowd know the rules and how hockey is played, or just there to support and cheer for the Carabaos. The crowd inspired the Manila players to play their best. And it paid off! Last period of the game was the most exciting part and they tied at 3-3. Then followed by hockey shootout. Manila scored 2 while Canada scored 1. Twas a 5-4 victory for the Manila team.

kae i was experimenting with my camera and trying the macro shots.. twas fun! lol.. it’s actually nice.. i like the color on that photo. are you kidding? naah.. it’s not fat.

hi! my husband came across this page and we were surprised that we actually have a hockey team! we’re HUGE fans of the Calgary Flames. Pretty obvious where we’re based, “EH”? I’m a Filipina and my husband’s Canadian. he thinks it’s pretty cool if he could get a hold of one of those Manila Carabaos jerseys! Any thought on where we could buy one, if there’s even any for sale? I have family in Laguna, and it’d be great if you could help me out with finding where to get one. Thanks!

Actually about the jerseys, you need to order a minimum of 10 pieces form our supplier. But I’ll try to ask the owner first if you can order just one as a souvenir. Will let you know soon. Btw, I got a message from Abel Catindig?? Anyhow, will ask our supplier first. Thanks!
