hello!!! i just want to know how much is the cheapest ice skates for sale here in the phil?in the skate galllery in sm mega? magkano po ung bili nyo dun sa figure skates? thnx

8. sharm - '07/13/06

hi dana! im not sure about the prices at skate gallery in megamall coz hindi ako doon bumibili ng skates. But you can buy 2nd hand hockey skates between P2000 (cheapest) to P8000 (i think) depending on the brand. But if you’re going to buy a brandnew hockey skates, it’ll cost P3000 and up (again, depending on the brand). If you’re asking about the figure skates, sorry, don’t know the price range coz i’m only selling hockey skates. Pero before, I bought my figure skates for P3000 only pero hindi siya top of the line figure skates. ;)

9. dana - '07/15/06

hi dana! sm skating rink sells 2nd hand hockey skates.. you can visit the skating gallery in megamall. my skate was a jackson figure skates for 3000. my cousin bought it in canada and twas on sale. ;) actually, that’s really cheap for a beginner skates. if you’re a serious skater, a pair of skate will cost P12,000 to 40,000.

11. fung - '09/12/06

ey nice skates, i like the nike one! so, is this like you’re retiring? i heard philippines would join on winter olympics soon, and you’ll be part of it for sure :) regards to bossing!

12. sharm - '09/12/06

hi fung! musta na? nope, i’m not retiring yet. bought new set of gears kasi that’s why i’m selling the old one. ;) ah really? didn’t know our country will be joinging the winter olympics??? pero that’s possible coz our figure skaters and ehem… hockey players are really good considering we’re in a tropical country pa. and if that happens, i’ll definitely be a part of it haha… i wish! :p

13. ria - '09/24/06

Are you still selling the Nike V-Ti Skates? Is the size 5EE equivalent to the normal size 5? And yung 7EE, size 7 din? :)

14. sharm - '09/25/06

hi again ria! re your inquiry, size 5EE is equivalent to 6 to 7 shoe size while 7EE is equivalent to 7 to 9 shoe size. yep! it’s still available. what is your shoe size?

15. ria - '09/25/06

In basketball shoes, I always buy size 8s, pero size 6 1/2-7 lang ako. Hmm, are your size 5EE skates still available? If it is, can I buy them? What time’s your exhibition game in MOA next week? :)

16. sharm - '09/30/06

yep! nike size 5EE is still available. actually, our exhibition game in moa is canceled. we’re still waiting for their final decision is we’re going to push through or not. will keep you posted. btw, i’ll message you nalang sa ym yung cel # ko in case you’re insterested. thanks! :)

17. jesma - '10/18/06

hey, nice site btw=) ive been looking for bauer skates here in the phil.. what is 5R equivalent to?

18. sharm - '10/18/06

thanks for checkin’ out my site, jesma! anyhow, bauer impact size 5R is still available but supply is limited. equivalent shoe size of 5R is 5 1/2 to 7. i also have size 4 (shoe size is 4 1/2 to 5). if you’re interested, just pm me. thanks! :)

19. Manon - '10/25/06

Hi, Im a women and my shoes is 8.5…. 7EE skate is good for me???

20. sharm - '10/25/06

Hi Manon! Yup! If you’re an 8.5, 7EE fits perfectly. :)

21. Kae - '10/30/06

Hey Sharm!
added note to all those interested in the hockey skates:
EE in hockey skates are equivalent to a WIDE size.
R is particularly narrow
D is the regular size

if you’re particularly flat footed do consider getting an EE or an E size whatever brand

some more general reminders on the skate fitting:
CCM size D - the average, normal foot
Easton/Graf/Bauer size D - a lot slimmer than the normal so they are particularly more smaller and tighter than CCMs
Nike size D - excellent for those with wide foot, I use a Nike quest 2 size 5D (my street shoe size is 7…do the math) but I think I can go with a size 5E because after training my foot gets considerably bigger

22. Kae - '10/30/06

I ran out of space haha
continued…
Ideally your street shoe size minus 2 equals your hockey skate size but because various brands differ in custom fitting keep in mind that our neutral basis is a “D” size (as shown above) read the notes above over and over then consider what skate size will suit you best.
**added note**
go with an R if you have a particularly slender foot, if it’s a Bauer R (then smaller plus a bit narrow) this skate will fit sexy-footed people if you know what I mean.
MY ADVICE…
So study your foot on what category you fit in before purchasing bec the last thing you need is a sore foot after skating or blisters if the skate is too lose that you can park a schoolbus in it (thanks puckmugger for the idea ^_^)

Sharm is right on with the size, but know if you’re wide, narrow or what have you after all it’s your own feet.

you can e-mail me if you have questions about skates and hockey.

**WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY TRAINING is EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT 10:30 PM SM MEGAMALL**watch Sharm and the rest of us ^_^

23. crokette - '11/30/06

24. carol - '01/4/07

hi sharm! i just recently got interested in ice skating…and im thinkin of buying a pair…i know that ur into hockey, im into figure skating but i just need to ask someone with a background on this subject…i was wondering whats the price range of ice skates and any good brand u wanna suggest and would u know where i can buy here in manila?

it’d be great if u could email me

please hehehe

thanks!

-Carol

25. sharm - '01/9/07

hi jhang! regarding your inquiry, you can check out the skating shops in megamall (skate gallery) and mall of asia (in2skating). but if you want 2nd hand sticks, i can recommend you to my friends. it’s much cheaper. just leave a notey if you’re intersted or you can ym me instead. ;)

carol, the price range of the hockey skates depends on the quality and brand. if you’re looking for 2nd hand skates, the price range is from P2,000 (cheapest) to P15,000 (top of the line). but if you want brand new skates with famous brands like nike, ccm, easton, mission, bauer, reebok, etc. the price range is from P5,000 to P25,000, but it still depends on the supplier or shops. try to visit megamall’s skate gallery and moa’s in2skating shops. i’m also selling cheap but top of the line skates. btw, what is your size? just let me know. :)

Subject: “HELP”: AWSM Corporate Sponsorship & Equipment Donation

To Sharmskee & the Manila Ice Vixens ice hockey organization –

Dear Ladies,
Very briefly –

Your “puckin’ passion” and sincerity is VERY winning indeed!

Our company, AWSM Endeavors, Ltd.* (”AWSM”), which specializes in international cultural exchange/entertainment/event-building, especially through the games of ice and ‘inline’ hockey, might be interested in becoming a “title” Ice Vixens Corporate Sponsor. AWSM would be willing to start with an initial sponsorship of $10,000 U.S. Dollars (USD = 490,614.62 PHP today!), PLUS a 30-set, FULL “Pro” kitting (”custom” team pants, gloves, helmets, sticks, bags, “Home” & “Away” game jerseys & socks, etc.) of the Manila Ice Vixens program based upon the Manila Ice Vixens commitment to travel-to and represent AWSM (and AWSM events) around the world. This would involve at least 2 - 3 international tournament/events per year (at least 1 European and maybe 1 Asian, North American or elsewhere). AWSM would help in fund-raising for traveling to these international events.

We would also be interested in organizing a women’s international “pursed” (MONEY!) tournament/event in the Philippines — one of the VERY FIRST of its kind in the international women’s game (as AWSM is already doing the FIRST-EVER elsewhere!). This tournament/event could be held in Manila (and probably in the Spring, late-April or early-May), wherever and whenever we both feel would be better for such an international event. If we are successful with both our association with the Manila Ice Vixens and in staging a women’s international tournament/event in the Phillipines, we would be willing to further ‘grow’ both our sponsorship, the event “purse” and the Manila Ice Vixens programs through additional financial commitment, maybe even on an ongoing “annual” basis.

Our telephone contact: I will forward on once we have your direct response via e-mail

With both the $10,000 USD cash sponsorship and the 30-set equipment donation this “AWESOME” sponsorship package totals well over $35,000 USD (1,717, 151.16 PHP to start!). This is a very serious and sincere inquiry and we would hope that our e-mail, interest and offer will be replied to one way or another.

Looking forward to your reply…

Regards,

Michael A. Kramer
President, AWSM Endeavors, Ltd.

hi der ate..im mark..im a hockey fan but not a player..that’s why i want to get involve..just want to ask kung available ka na skate for size 8..kasi my shoe size is 8..and i want to know your prices din…and if you dont mind ate, want to ask how old are you when you started playing it..coz um thinkin na late na ako..thanx for answering my inquiries…

28. sharm - '03/12/07

Hi Mark! To start with, thanks for checking out my site.Ü It’s nice to hear that you want to get invloved with ice hockey.

If you’re a size 8, you need a size 6 hockey skates. If you’re looking for a top of the line skates (depending on the brand), makakakuha ka ng 10,000 to 25,000 pesos. Pero if ordinary lang, mga 10,000 and below. If 2nd hand skates naman, 2,000 and up. As of now, I don’t have your size pero I can help you with that kasi I have other friends who sell hockey equipment.

Anyways, I’m late 20’s na hehe.. and I started playing when I was 23 years old. I don’t think it’s too late for you to play as long as your physically fit, you can still join hockey. :D

31. Virna - '03/17/07

Another question, are the shoe sizes of skates in sm in standard or American size? I really don’t know. I buy skates through a friend who knows how big my feet are. ^_^

32. sharm - '03/19/07

Hi Virna! You can buy second figure skates at in2skating in MOA and skate gallery in Megamall. You can a pair of skates for as low as P2,000 and can go as high as P15,000 depending on the brand and quality.

The shoe size is American size. If your shoe size is 6, the skate size should be 4 or 5. Anyways, goodluck on your new career and see you around. :D

33. Goalie Queen - '03/29/07

Hello, just moved to manila a few weeks back. Need to find skates for my 8 year old girl and 5 year old boy. Bauers would be great but they can do with the cheeper CCM’s if need be. Help locating these items would be much appreciated. Also, I would be needing a pair of new bauer “goalie” skates. Thanks!

34. sharm - '03/29/07

Hi Goalie Queen. What are the shoes size of your kids? I can help you find the cheapest hockey skates. Also, maybe you want to check out Megamall and Mall of Asia skating rinks but the skates there are quite expensive. Where can I contact you? You can email me your contact info and other queries at sharmskee@yahoo.com. Thanks! =)

35. LARRY - '05/8/07

SHARM, UNLESS CUSTOMS FEES MORE THAN DOUBLE THE COST OF NEW SKATES, I SEE THE POTENTIAL FOR A HOCKEY/SKATING PRO SHOP. I’VE ALREADY CONTACTED YOU BEFORE ABOUT PRICING SKATES AND EQUIPMENT. LET’S TALK BUSINESS. BECAUSE THE PRICING YOU ARE TALKING ON THIS PAGE IS OUTRAGEOUS. I BELIEVE PRICES CAN BE CUT BY 1/4-1/2 ON THE SAME SKATES. I ALMOST BELIEVE NEW SKATES COULD BE SOLD FOR ABOUT THE COST YOU ARE TALKING FOR USED SKATES, OR SLIGHTLY MORE, AND STILL MAKE A GOOD PROFIT. WHEN WILL YOU BE AVAILABLE FOR IM.
LARRY

36. danielle - '05/10/07

hey ate sharm. still remember me, dada, are you still selling hockey skates? i wanted to enroll for lessons but i couldn’t because i dont have skates. my mom wanted to see like a list of the skates your selling or something like that. thanks.

37. danielle - '05/10/07

oh are you the team captain? i admire the vixens, you are all so cool.haha. im just wondering, are the other girls’ team active? guys teams are active, i always hear the names- predators, manila black wolves, manila tigers and a lot more..

38. sharm - '05/10/07

hi dada! of course i still remember you. yup! i’m still selling hockey skates. i still have nike size 7 and bauer size 5 (all brandnew). if you’re interested, maybe we can meet up. btw, what’s your shoe size again?

i’m not the team captain of Manila Ice Vixens but i’m the president of MIV and WIHAP (women’s ice hockey association of the philippines). i’m not sure if there’s another girls team from other skating rinks. i think we’re the only SOLID-ALL-GIRLS-TEAM in town haha… anyways, our organization is open to all girls who are interested to join the team. maybe you’d be the next MIV. ;)

39. sharm - '05/10/07

larry, i emailed you my answers to your queries. hope to hear from you again. thanks!

54. Jhasmin - '10/3/08

Hi! Like the others, I am looking for 2nd ladies figure skates that are on sale here in the Philippines. I’m size 9, but sometimes when I try on American shoes, it falls between 8-9. I’ve read that some brands don’t have this “size table” about ice skates (I’m confused as to what figure skate shoe size will be good for my feet). I want to learn how to ice skate (maybe figure skate if I can) and I plan to have my own skates. My question is, what skate size should I wear generally? Also I would really appreciate it if there would be skates for sale (I think any brand will do, but I really like the CCM skates). I’ve never been to SM Megamall (to look for ice skates in Skate Gallery [you’ve said in your previous posts that Skate Gallery sells 2nd hand ice skates]). Thank you for your time and I’m sorry if my post is long. God Bless.
=D

55. Jhasmin - '10/3/08

There’s a typo in my last entry.. “Hi! Like the others, I am looking for 2nd ladies figure skates that are on sale here in the Philippines”.. I meant “2nd hand ladies figure skates”.. Sorry for the mistake. =D

Btw, I’ve seen your photos in this site. Your beautiful. And I’ve watched the Ice Vixens in Sports Illustrated. You rock! =D

56. sharm - '10/6/08

Thanks for checking out this site. I’ll try to help you find 2nd hand figure skates. I’m only selling hockey skates. If you’re interested to try hockey, let me know. Anyways, I’ll text you as soon as I find one. ;)

57. sharm - '10/6/08

Thanks again Jhasmin. Btw, I think you saw us on Sports Unlimited? and not Sports Illustrated right? Coz that would be a big difference hehe.. ;)

58. Jhasmin - '10/24/08

Yap.. My bad.. Sports Unlimited.. bwahaha.. Silly Me.. Sorry :) I’m still searching for my figure skates.. Thanks for the help! :D

59. sharm - '10/25/08

Haha.. No worries! Still looking for your size though. Will let you know if I find one. ;)

60. Chase - '03/12/09

Helloooooo. Americans new to Manila seeking ice hockey gear; need sticks, pucks, helmets, etc. Who can suggest local sources, pls? Thanks!

61. sharm - '03/17/09

Hi there Chase,

You can check out In2skating at the Mall of Asia skating rink. Also, Skate Gallery at Megamall skating rink. I can probably help you find a gear from other sellers, just let me know the size.
